About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly. Combined they employ 439+ people.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Angie Nelis for 100 students at St Martin's School Brentwood aged Age 14 - 15.

Event description

Please speak to the students about soft skills. How you have developed your own skills, their importance and how they are transferable.

This event is organised by the Careers Department every year. Students work in groups to develop a fictional business, calculate the first year's costs and apply for a bank loan, re-brand the business and present their ideas at the end of the day. We will then reflect on the skills they have used during the activities.
