About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Anna Lord for 150 students at St Richard Reynolds Catholic High School aged Age 16 - 18.

Event description

Sparking new ideas and breaking with convention - what else could I be?

In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

We are keen that students begin to understand the breadth of roles available in the workplace; that they can see themselves in less "obvious" jobs: that they rate less traditional roles as highly as a lawyer, accountant, engineer and that they value and connect the soft skills they are learning now with their future prospects.
