About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Maria Christou for 50 students at Mount House School aged Age 16 - 17.

Event description

10 min mock interview session. To help draw out student traits & skills. Familiarise common interview questions. How to deal with interviews

In these sessions, business leaders hold mock interviews, which are an emulation of a job interview used for training purposes. The exercise usually resembles a real interview as closely as possible, for the purpose of providing a learning experience for students.

Depending on the class size, students can meet with business leaders one-to-one or in small groups within the same classroom or auditorium. The mock interviews can range in the length of time depending on the group size. The key is that the students have a chance to prepare ahead of time and understand this is a great learning opportunity to practice their skills and build their confidence.

A yearly mock interview session for our Year 12 cohort., 35 students. Approximately 10 ,minutes for each student. Carried out over two days. 9-2 The aim of the mock interview is to give our students experience of what real life interviews will be like and help gain confidence in themselves. Questions that may help draw out their traits and skills. This will familiarise them with common interview questions and also give pointers that will help them shape the way they deal with interviews. Give constructive feedback and any other kind of support you feel may be beneficial to the student. It is an informal event and can be made your own adding any ideas you may have.
