Event description

You can't be what you can't see! - This is a speed mentoring event to introduce Year 9 students to a range of careers in order to lift aspirations, and provide insight into careers and business leaders that they would not otherwise interact with.

The event is a careers speed networking session to give employers and professional a quality interaction with students.
The format for the morning will be:
8.30am Employers arrive for briefing
8.50am 150 Year 9 students arrive and are seated in tables of 8 with two employers on each table.
8.55 Introduction to students and ice breaker activity
9.05 Speed networking begins - each 5 minute session starting with a one minute intro from the employers
9.40 Wrap and conclusions
9.50 Students depart
10.50 Second cohort of students arrive
11.50 Event ends

The students will have questions to ask and will interact for five minutes when a whistle will blow and the employers will move on to the next table. This will happen six times. Students will be briefed on the professionals that are attending the event and will be given activities and questions to support them in their discussion of the various careers showcased. They will want to find out about your industry and its entry points as well as gather information and tips from your individual career journeys. The event and your involvement would be publicised to our large parent and school community on our website, through our school newsletter and on posters between now and March.
