About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Jane Shipley for 250 students at The Priory School aged Age 15 - 15.

Event description

Would you like to be part of an event, which will inspire and enthuse young people, about possible future career paths? We are looking for volunteers who would be keen to take the role of an interviewer on the day.

'Get Work Ready' is a whole-day programme where students in year 1O will begin to learn what today's employers look for in their workforce.
Students take part in interview and job application challenges that local, national and international employers use within their current recruitment processes. Individual and team assessments, thinking ‘out of the box’ tasks, customer service activities, practical and written exercises, and interviews are delivered by the business volunteers who provide real and honest feedback. Workshops generally last 40-45 minutes.
Students can meet with business leaders in small groups within the same classroom. The students will have a chance to prepare ahead of time and understand this is a great learning opportunity to practice their skills and build their confidence.
Could you take the role of an interviewer, inspiring the Year 10 students in The Priory School, Hitchin?
The social, transferable and employability skills they will gain on the day, are hugely beneficial to their future success.
Please, be part of this uplifting and inspirational day.
