Event description

'Get Work Ready' - Students attending a local school for the deaf.
Can you take the role of an interviewer and inspire the young people?

'Get Work Ready' is a whole-day programme where students in this small school for the deaf, will begin to learn what today's employers look for in their workforce.
Students take part in interview and job application challenges that local, national and international employers use within their current recruitment processes. Individual and team assessments, thinking ‘out of the box’ tasks, customer service activities, practical and written exercises, and interviews are delivered by the business volunteers who provide real and honest feedback. Workshops generally last 30- 40 minutes.
In these sessions, business volunteers hold mock interviews, which are an emulation of a job interview used for training purposes.
Students can meet with business leaders in small groups within the classroom. Please, note that students have a chance to prepare ahead of time and understand this is a great learning opportunity to practice their skills and build their confidence.
The impact and learning that takes place for the young people is huge.
Your support is invaluable!
