Event description

How learning another language makes you more employable!

The Modern Languages department at Dalkeith High School is looking for employers to present a 20 minute workshop (on a rotational basis, so the same workshop would be repeated to 6 or 7 different groups of around 25-30 pupils) to our current S3 on the importance of languages in regard to your profession. We understand that speaking another language is not essential for your profession, however would love it if you could highlight how the skills such as: better communication, maths skills, heightened logic, better memory, cultural awareness, easier travel (amongst many others!), that are acquired when learning another language would be extremely beneficial in your workplace. We hope that workshops would be more interactive seeing as the pupils will be sitting through another five or six of these throughout the morning. We really hope this is something you would like to help us with- if interested please just reply to me via email at: c.mcinnes2@mgfl.net

Any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated!
