About the teacher and students

The event was created by Hannah Kaminskas for 100 students at The King's CofE (VA) School aged Age 15 - 18.

Event description

Inspire our students whilst educating them on the importance of hard work and resilience to achieve success in both school and life

On Wednesday 18th December Year 11 and sixth form will be taking part in a Careers Drop Down Day where they will have the opportunity to be inspired by a range of professionals from different sectors / industries.

On this day from 2-3pm I would like students to be involved in a role model event (assembly style presentation) where professionals can inspire and motivate our students through informing them about their own career journeys, their successes etc. This will be extremely worthwhile and beneficial for our students who, for the vast majority, have a lack of ambition / do not know what they want to do in the future and are often disheartened by this

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
