Event description

S2 Employability Skills and Careers 'Speed Dating'

Develop the skills of young people by helping them to develop a broader understanding of the world of work and the skills needed to be successful. This event is targeted at S2 pupils, a couple of months before they start making pathway choices in terms of the subjects they will continue to study in S3. We hope to give the pupils the opportunity to talk directly to adults from various industries and give them the chance to ask them about their work, career pathways and decisions made at school regarding their own career pathways and the skills needed to be successful. Grangemouth High School, like many others, has a Skills Framework in place that identifies, amongst many others, Employability Skills such as time management, working with others, using initiative and planning and organising. The session will involve introductory talks by guest speakers before the pupils form into smaller groups to start the 'speed dating' with industry representatives.
