Event description

Year 10 Mock Interview Morning - Key Stage 4 work related learning

The morning runs from 9am until 1pm; it consists of six different activities for which the year group (approximately 160 students) is divided into four. Whilst students in one group are being interviewed the other five groups take part in workshops designed to help them start thinking about their post-16 options.

For the practice interviews, we ask volunteers to conduct short one-to-one interviews and complete a brief feedback sheet for each interviewee. Each lesson lasts for 50 minutes, so there is time to interview two or three girls per session. The girls have started their preparation for work experience and each will give you a specimen application form and CV at the start of their interview. They will wear suitable interview attire, which includes school uniform.

Students find that their interview teaches them a great deal about themselves, improves their confidence and makes them more aware of the demands of the world of work. The morning also helps to focus students’ ideas about work experience, which takes place in July, by bringing work-related learning to life.

Should you require any more information, please contact myself Ms Stephanie Kettle via the school office 0121 454 0895 or skettle@stpaulgl.bham.sch.uk . I will be sending more detailed information about arrangements closer to the date, including specimen questions to use if you wish. I hope that you will be able to support our Practice Interview morning and look forward to hearing from you.
