These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.
The event was created by Stephanie Campbell for 100 students at Claremont High School aged Age 17 - 18.
Come join our Progression day – bridging the gap between school and a great career!
Business leaders from fast-growing local businesses can join our progression fair.
I am hoping to secure a speaker to discuss the Labour Market and the importance of students being aware of the dynamic nature and future of the labour market, which jobs will have shortages and which jobs will have a surplus, popular industries etc
I am hoping to secure another speaker to discuss the importance of outside activities, work experience and internships to help build personal statements, CV and applications for apprenticeship or training. How a student that thinks that don't have anything to write about themselves, but organises a local kick about with his mates on a weekend, can turn that into team working skills, ability to liaise etc.
The afternoon will end with different employers or employees & Apprenticeship providers from a range of professions discuss their jobs and giving students the opportunity to ask questions. The focus to be on "what are employers looking for from future candidates?" This will likely happen on a rotation basis
Companies will set up stalls in a space set up by the school and may bring business cards, leaflets or some technology to showcase to students. Students will have the opportunity to informally approach lots of different employers, talk to them personally and ask questions. It is important to note that there should be no expectations of any job opportunities being offered by business leaders at a careers fair but this is a great way for students to experience a wide range of businesses in their local community and for businesses to begin to build their talent pipeline.
