Event description

Year 9 Careers week

During the first week of July we hold a careers week for year 9 students. While the date selected here is the 3rd of July, we hold a talk each day Tues-Thurs of that week, (2nd-5th). This means we can be flexible with times and dates. The whole event is intended to provide students with a variety of people's experiences, from various sectors of work.

In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

The talk should last between half an hour and an hour at the upper limit, including some time for questions. If there are any resources you may need, or access beyond a computer and projector let me know and I am sure we can arrange for your needs to be met.

I thank you for your time,

S. Powdrill.
