‘Practice Interview Day’. Build young peoples confidence, highlight strengths, inspire young people
This is our annual ‘Practice Interview Day’. I will be inviting a number of volunteers to represent a wide range of career sectors who will conduct practice interviews. All pupils will be given the opportunity to have an interview of up to about 20 minutes. Each will have had prior lesson time and an assembly to prepare their ‘Progress File’ folder of achievements and produce a word processed ‘Curriculum Vitae’.
Interviewers will be questioning the pupils about their strengths, abilities, achievements and possible career goals. Interviewers will also talk about their own role and their place of work, drawing on their own experiences. Where possible, we try to match the pupil to an interviewer that the pupil has an interest in. At the end of the interview a feedback form will be completed, showing how the interview went, highlighting any areas for improvement.
There are 3 TIME SLOTS you can choose from
Group 1 (Whole Day) 8:15am – 3:15pm (approximately 10 interviews & staff networking lunch)
Group 2 (Morning) 8:15am – 11:40am (approximately 5 interviews)
Group 3 (into the afternoon) 11:15am – 3.15pm
Please can guests respond with their attendance by Friday 5th April 2019. Once I have received your confirmation, I can then send you the full format of the event and some further information about our school. If you are unable to attend or recruit any of your colleagues, please could you suggest any other organisations that may be able to help support this event.
