Event description

Support Queen Mary College level 2 students to 'Find their Future' (PART 1)

Finding Your Future will connect young people with relevant role models to bring jobs and career pathways to life for students who have the potential, but not currently the inclination, to pursue higher education (including degree courses at college or university as well as higher or degree level apprenticeships).

We are looking for role models to take part in two sessions. Please note: while we would like you to attend both sessions, we appreciate that this is not always possible. So please do let me know if you can only attend one of the other.

Session 1 – Tuesday 7th May 11am to 1pm
Queen Mary College, Basingstoke, RG21
The first session will be held on 7th May between 11am and 1pm. Role models will be supported to work with up to 30 students in a classroom environment. The session will be entitled 'Inspire'. Your role in the classroom will be to support students with quick, interactive tasks focused around them developing a better understanding of how their skills and qualities will support them in higher education and in their future careers. You will also have the chance to share your own experience with the students; from your education to your current role, as well as what skills and qualities you need to consider a role at your place of work.

Session 2 – Tuesday 14th May 11am to 1pm
Queen Mary College, Basingstoke, RG21
The second session will be held the following week (Tuesday 14th May) where the same students will be invited to take part in a 'Speed Networking' session. Your role will be to move around small groups of students and answer any questions they have about the world of work. We hope that students will come out of the session having discovered more about the options available to them after college.

Thank you in advance.
