Event description

Preparing for a Healthy Lifestyle

Healthy Choices and Cooking!!!

Pupils from Hyndland Secondary School are completing their life skills section of their Prince's Trust Achieve Programme.

The group of Young People will be coming into the Prince's Trust Wolfson Centre in Glasgow to use our kitchen facilities on the 26th March. The group would like someone to deliver a chat or workshop around healthy choices/healthy living from 10am to 12noon on this day. A focus on diet, exercise and keeping a healthy mind would be preferred.

From 12.30pm until 2.30pm they will cook a 2 course healthy meal which they would have pre planned before the day. Cooking this meal will go towards their Planning For a Healthy Lifestyle qualification as part of the programme. Happy to share the unit outcomes with you. It is very simple. You would NOT be expected to bring food, materials with you, the school will organise this themselves.

Young People in the group, mix of abilities and dynamics. Mix of vulnerable Young People as well as Young People with behavioral issues. However, all are great in practical based sessions or workshops.
This session would NOT be an inspirational talk, more of a hands on workshop/session with the pupils or an engaging chat.

Please be aware the Prince's Trust Achieve Programme is a Personal Development Programme that works with Young People who need support with their education. They may be taking part due to attendance/behavioral issues, motivation/confidence issues or they could be suffering with their mental health or bullying.
