Event description
Come join our Careers Fair
Business leaders from fast-growing local businesses can join career fairs all year round.
Companies will set up stalls in a space set up by the school and may bring business cards, leaflets or some technology to showcase to students. Students will have the opportunity to informally approach lots of different employers, talk to them personally and ask questions. It is important to note that there should be no expectations of any job opportunities being offered by business leaders at a careers fair but this is a great way for students to experience a wide range of businesses in their local community and for businesses to begin to build their talent pipeline.
As part of National Careers Week 2019, we are holding a Careers and Skills Fair here at St. Thomas More High School. We have decided the best way forward would be to hold various stalls and have talks about different careers and the ways in which our students can achieve this. We are approaching different reputable businesses and educational facilities to see if you would be interested in participating. We would love to get Colchester Zoo involved.
Our Careers and Skills Fair is designed to help educate pupils (years 7-13) on what is best for the next step of their lives, whether being University, College, an Apprenticeship or full time employment.
The Careers and Skills Fair will be on Thursday 7th March 2019 at St. Thomas More High School in Westcliff-on-Sea. If you would like to have a stall, it will be starting at 9:10am until 1:30pm but we would appreciate it if you could arrive approximately thirty minutes before the event to set up. We would love you to attend our event and would be grateful if you could RSVP via my email address careersfair@st-thomasmore.southend.sch.uk about whether you will be able to offer a stall.
