Event description

Aspirations Day; Think Big, Be Big!

Ref – Langley Primary Aspirations Day
Dear colleagues

It is our intention to host an Aspirations Day for our children on Thursday 12th April 2019 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. This day is the culmination of events that have happened throughout the term concerning student’s confidence, mental health and growth mind-set in an attempt to breakdown social prejudice and encourage our students to think and dream big even at their young age. As you will be aware the Rt Hon Anne Milton (MP for further and Higher Education) has made it clear that quality careers education needs to be delivered in primary schools (more specifically KS2) so that children will leave primary education feeling more optimistic about their futures.
KS2 children will take advantage of meeting you, but most of all seeing what opportunities are out there for them when they leave school or after sixth form aged 18. I have arranged for other sectors such as The Royal Navy, Medical Mavericks to come in and work with the children in an aim to inspire their minds but is also about challenging the kids to think about other careers they may never of thought or careers that I know will have a crucial impact on their lives as they grow older.

The primary aim of the day is hoped that the children will want to ask questions about your job we seek your support and collaboration in tackling the way young children engage with the thought of careers and employability.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the day. As a school we want Langley Primary to be at the forefront of rolling out careers led curriculum in our primary schools which I am sure you will agree is a pivotal move as primary education moves forward
I would be grateful if you could complete the attendance form attached to this invite and return it either of the email addresses below as soon as you can.
I would thrilled if you were able to attend
With kind regards
