About the teacher and students

The event was created by Melissa Leggett for 250 students at Southend High School for Boys aged Age 14 - 17.

Event description

Community Cohesion project at Southend High School for Boys, to inspire pupils to venture into computing related careers

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for pupils to work with individuals from industry, with a hope of pupils leaving the event inspired to venture into a computer science-related career.

Timings:
- Arrival 8.30am – admin and classroom set up
- 9.30am – Sessions begin
- 10.40am – break
- 10.55/11.00 – next sessions begin
- 13.00 – lunch
- 14.00 – final session
- 14.30 – finishing talk
- 15.00 – Day finish

Attire: Pupils and staff will be in non-school uniform. Please feel free to dress in what you find comfortable.

All pupils that visit you for the session, will be in either Year 9, 10 or 12 (age ranges between 14 and 17 years old). All pupils that you would see are studying computer science for either their GCSE or A Level.
