About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Lorraine Lewington for 200 students at The Forest School aged Age 14 - 15.

Event description

Inspire our students in Year 10 by helping them prepare for the world of work by taking part in a Mock Interview.

In these sessions, business leaders hold mock interviews, which are an emulation of a job interview used for training purposes. The exercise usually resembles a real interview as closely as possible, for the purpose of providing a learning experience for students.

The audience is Year 10 boys ( we are a single sex school) who will be interviewed on a 1:1 basis about a job they have chosen to apply for from a list or one they have researched themselves. Volunteers will interview in pairs or alone depending on numbers allowing for the interview to take 15 minutes with 10 minutes of feedback given.
Volunteers are asked to meet at school for 8.30 for briefing with interviews to start at 9. Our school day is 8.45-9.10 tutor 9.10-10.50 ( break) period 2 11.20-13.00 ( lunch) period 3 1330-3.10. Volunteers can opt to stay for the whole or part of the day
