Event description

STEM Careers Week

At Ark Kings Academy we constantly strive to inform our students of all the future opportunities available to them, and we recognise that STEM is a continually growing and increasingly important area.

On the week 11th-15th February we will be running a STEM careers week and we are looking for employers to come in to inspire and inform our students about the opportunities available to them in the STEM area.

If you are able to help us out in any way that would be fantastic! We are looking for people who could provide:
• STEM workshops
• Informative talks on STEM careers
• Be interviewed by students about STEM careers
• Be part of a STEM Careers panel and talk to students about your experience of STEM.
• Workplace visits

The first event we would like to hold is an inspiring panel talk about STEM.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

If you are able to participate please email me: s.hands@arkkingsacademy.org

Thanks,

Simon Hands
