About the teacher and students

The event was created by Stephen O Carroll for 200 students at Ark Academy aged Age 14 - 14.

Event description

Inspire our students - Year 9 Careers Day. Students will spend an entire day exploring their futures & the reality of the workplace.

In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future. This will be done through a speed networking style event with students in small groups [3-4 students per group] spending 6 to 7 minutes with each business leader. Students will rotate through as many leaders as possible to expose them to wide and varied panel of experts

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
