Event description

S2-3 Careers Event at The Royal High School. Inspire students and raise work readiness awareness of how to enter your industry and succeed!

Inspire young people considering the vast array of potential careers available. This may include showcasing current job opportunities within your local community or explaining the pathways that young people can take to obtain a job within a particular sector.

A number of employers, university representatives, colleges etc will set up stalls as part of our exhibition in the Main hall and this is very helpful in steering young people to careers / sectors. Last year, the best feedback came when organisations were able to run workshops for groups. It would be a real eye-opener for students to have input from yourself or a colleague. Depending on the availability of partners, we may also look to invite families in for input in the afternoon.

Our current planning is to run workshops from 9.30 – 1.05pm, with timings as:

9.30 – 10.20
10.35 – 11.25
11.25 – 12.15
12.15 – 1.05pm

If you are able to deliver workshops during one or two of these slots, it would be hugely appreciated. Our students will select 3 workshop slots and have one slot going round the marketplace. Workshop sizes will be 25-50 students; approximately 500 students will browse the marketplace stalls. Students will identify and opt into workshops, based on their interests and future career aspirations. If you prefer to run a pop up stall so that students and their parents can speak to you about your work, that would be of huge value to us.
