Event description

Inspire our students - The Importance of Values in the workplace and the wider world and the impact they have on first impressions

Demonstrate personal skills, qualities and attitudes required to succeed post-education.

We are continually revisiting our school values. Pride is at the heart of our values which are Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Enthusiasm. We work hard with all our learners, and staff, to recognise when they are showing the values in school but also, when required, to challenge them on choices which do not reflect our school values. We continually strive to have "Pride in Ourselves and Pride in our School"
We held a values assembly in week 2 where we revisited the values. Much discussion around the school values have taken place since. Eg - recognising respect - holding open doors, saying please and thank you etc. Learners are encouraged to recognise the values in each other.
For the above event, we hoped that our Founders could come and speak at our next Values assembly, on the 25th January, about the importance of values, not just in school, but also in the wider working world. It would be very interesting for our learners to hear about the values of each company and also to compare for any commonality. What values are the most important values to our Founders? Why are values so important in the world of work? What values do employers look for in their employees to make a successful workplace?
It is hoped that this assembly will allow leaners to make connection to the wider world of work, ensuring that they have a clear understanding that Values have a vital role to play in shaping society and mind-sets.
The Founders would speak to the assembly about their business and the values which are associated with them, and ultimately sharing what they look for in a workforce. There would be time for Q and A at the end.
