About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Lesley Mole for 150 students at St Leonard's Catholic School aged Age 16 - 16.

Event description

Let me welcome you to St. Leonard's School in Durham to our first year 11 Careers Fair.

A light buffet will be served from 12.45, but the event itself starts at 1.45.

We would love to welcome business leaders from fast-growing local businesses alongside representation from local FE and HE, providers and employers.

Companies will set up stalls in the main hall and may bring business cards, leaflets or some technology to showcase to students, although space will be limited. Students will have the opportunity to informally approach lots of different employers, talk to them personally and ask questions. We will have a quiz for them to complete to ensure they speak to everyone. If any employers have any vacancies such as apprenticeships that they wish to promote then that would be more than acceptable. This is a great way for students to experience a wide range of businesses in their local community and for businesses to begin to build their talent pipeline. This is the first time we have done this so we are starting on a small scale but I am hoping to develop this over the coming years in line with the new Careers Strategy and GATSBY benchmarks. This event will be over two afternoons both 18th and 19th October 2018 from 1.15-3.15 on both days.
