Event description

Inspire our girls with the story of your career and help them to understand the fast-changing nature of work especially in the Fourth IR.

This will be the first careers session of the academic year for our Year 8 girls. The remainder of their lessons will cover self-reflection, entrepreneurship and a Young Enterprise session linking learning to earning.
The purpose of session 1, your session, is to introduce the girls to careers stories from people in companies they know of, and hopefully to show them that success in your career is linked to choices and decisions made early on.
I would love them in addition to gain an appreciation of how fast things are changing in the world of work now and how important it is to amass lots of skills and to throw away the classic job for life mentality.
They are a bright and inquisitive group of girls, who are incredibly welcoming and keen to learn.

In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
