About the teacher and students

The event was created by Amanda Southworth for 25 students at Chapeltown Academy aged Age 16 - 18.

Event description

Inspire our students to apply for the top universities and apprenticeships.

We would like multiply speakers during the day. 1 hour slots are available throughout the day and as a North Sheffield Sixth Form we want to inspire the students in this area as much as possible.

We have what we call progression days which are lots of speakers from different backgrounds coming together to inspire the next generation by talking about the journey they took from school through their career.

We would like you to ‘tell a story’ about your career journey:
• What inspired you to choose your career path
• Why you find it high impact
• What you enjoy most about your career
• What subjects did you study and what decisions did you make along the way
• What mistakes did you make and how did you learn from them
• What skills is your company looking for

These meaningful encounters inspire students and have a positive impact on their future life choices and we believe that many of our students have not had this exposure to inspirational people and we want to change that.
