About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by April Simpson for 25 students at Gartmore Primary School aged Age 8 - 10.

Event description

Inspire our students

We are a small rural school who are developing the skills of young people by helping them to develop broader understanding relating to gaining and sustaining employment. The school has focussed on Digital Literacy on our School Improvement Plan this year and this opportunity would be great for the children to recognise how the skills they are developing could be applied to life and work. A visit from a variety of business leaders would be inspiring for our pupils.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
