Becoming Digital Daredevils in Digital Learning Week

Don't worry we don't want you to speak for the whole day - just 20-30 mins within the day at a time of your choosing. If you decide to support us, please contact us to let us know when is best!

Our school have recently achieved the highly sought after Digital Schools Award and would like to keep the momentum going of our achievements. During Digital Schools Week 14-18 May we would like to invite a range of role models who's work involves using digital skills.

Our pupils have had many opportunities to develop their digital skills and in recent months have become designers of toys using computer aided design, programmers, digital authors and vloggers, to name but a few. Visits from professionals in the digital field would greatly benefit these pupils whose interest is already ignited.

Show and explain the specific skills required in the digital industry. This will provide valuable insight to young people considering a career option and give confirmation to those young people preparing to leave education for further/higher education or employment.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
