Event description

Develop employability skills

At The ACE Academy we believe that the development of young people’s employability skills is a key benefit to potential employers as well as to the students, as future employees. Therefore we would like to ask you or your colleagues if you could assist us in the following events:

Preparing for Work Enterprise Day on Wednesday 27th and/or Thursday 28th June 2017, 8.15am–3pm at The Ace Academy. The workshop will be same on both days, with approximately 100 students attending each day. The aim of the workshop is to prepare pupils for the world of work. This year the students would have already been on work experience so we are hoping they can build on what they have learnt out on their placements.

Throughout the day pupils will cover the following areas: employer expectations, interview techniques, time management, health & safety in the workplace, CV writing, and more! We provide all the resources and an agenda would be sent to you prior to the event.

We would like you to work with a focus group of approx. 6-8 pupils who you will be with all day, talk to them about your career, how you got to where you are now, your interview experiences and provide them with useful hints and tips to a successful career. At the end of the day you will be able to see the impact you have had on your group.

You will have an enjoyable few days, networking with other business professionals and young people. Your involvement will enhance the profile and reputation of your organisation within the community along with excellent work related learning for our students.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided for the event.

Could you please reply and let us know if this is something you would be interested in attending and the dates you are available to assist us. We also welcome your colleagues to attend and encourage you to forward this invite within your business.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
