Event description

Inspire our students

45 minute Careers talks run through National Careers week during tutor time (10.45am – 11.05am). We are looking for a number of different careers to be represented and will be holding one talk a day at 3 different schools, to include The Redhill Academy, The Hall Park Academy (in Eastwood) and The Carlton Academy. Talks will be held in the school’s Hall and will have between 30 and 100 students present. We are happy for volunteers to use PowerPoint presentations or adlib, whichever is preferred.

A business leader can ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Why they find it high impact
• What they enjoy most about their career
• What subjects did the study and what decisions did they make along the way
• What mistakes did they make and how did they learn from them
• What skills is their company currently looking for in their new hires

As the Keynote Career speech generally have less business leaders, the speakers can offer a more focussed, in-depth and comprehensive discussion. They will take students through their entire journey and reflect on their successes and failures in the world of employment. There will also be a Q&A session so that students can ask their own questions.

These meaningful encounters inspire students and have a positive impact on their future life choices.
