About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Tricia Curran for 25 students at Barnet and Southgate College aged Age 18 - 18.

Event description

Inspire our students

Business leaders will be given a room. They will speak to groups of Business studies students. Students will move from room to room over the morning. They will participate in a series of short, focused conversations about specific careers. Business leaders will meet around 10 -15 students at each session. There will be around 5-6 groups.
These encounters should be set up as a student-led, ‘carousel’-style activity, where groups of students move between different business leaders, business leaders will talk about their industry and a bit about their role to inspire students. They will tell of how they reached their level and what the current routes and opportunities may be. Students will have time to ask a few quick-fire questions.

Speed mentoring offers students the opportunity to ask meaningful questions to a range of different business leaders, to gain an insight into their working life and receive advice on the skills that are needed to be successful in today’s economy.
