Event description

Opportunities Day

Each year we hold a Year 9 Opportunities Day and I wondered if you were able to come along next year. The date is Friday 26th January 2018. We invite different speakers from different industries who come in to speak to the students about the careers in their industry, the routes to apply, qualifications required and the progression.

The format of the day is as follows:-

We have a whole year group participating of 180 students which are split into 8 smaller groups of 30 students. Each group is accompanied by at least one member of staff.

The format of the day is that each group has 30 minutes with each speaker and then the groups move to the next speaker. All speakers are based in the same classroom for the duration and we have projectors and whiteboards in all classrooms for powerpoint presentations etc.

We ask that the speakers arrive around 8.15am so we have time to show them to their rooms and test any IT requirements that they require. The half hour sessions are as follows:

8.40am-9.10am
9.10am-9.40am
9.40am-10.10am
10.10am-10.40am
10.40am-11.00 BREAK
11.00-11.30am
11.30-12.00am
12.00-12.30pm
12.30-1.00pm
1.00PM LUNCH

As a thank you to the speakers we provide refreshments at break and a buffet lunch.
