About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Jane Mcmanus for 75 students at Newton Primary School aged Age 11 - 11.

Event description

Inspire our children so they are ready and motivated to work together to create a small business.

In this session, a business leader will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire our senior pupils (Primary Seven) who are planning to run a small enterprise project which is to organise and stage a sophisticated Evening Burns Supper Event for parents and carers of 52 children and also invited staff.

Speaker will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
How they set up their business/businesses
Tips for success for the children in running their business
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant to the jobs they are doing now.
