About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Thomas Joyce for 50 students at St Mary's RC Primary School aged Age 11 - 11.

Event description

Inspire our students

In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

We are creating a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Week within our school. As well as the children being involved in practical activities throughout the week we would like the children to be able to listen to 'speakers' who were involved in related businesses to share their experiences. From this the children will be able to accumulate further information about a proposed career path and also to see how the learning within the classroom links to the working world.

Although I have requested a specific date above we would be interested in speakers throughout the week( 2nd October to 6th October) and at any times that suit the speaker(s)
