Event description

YEAR 10 PREPARING FOR WORK DAYS 28TH AND OR 29TH JUNE 2017

At The ACE Academy we believe that the development of young people’s employability skills is a key benefit to potential employers as well as to the students, as future employees. Therefore we would like to ask you or your colleagues if you could assist us in the following event:

Preparing for Work Enterprise Day on Wednesday 28th and/or Thursday 29th June 2017, 8.15am–3pm at Tipton Ace Academy.

The workshop will be same on both days, with approximately 100 students attending each day. The aim of the workshop is to prepare pupils for work experience and the world of work. Throughout the day pupils will cover the following areas: employer expectations, interview techniques, time management, health & safety in the workplace, CV writing, and more! We provide all the resources and an agenda would be sent to you prior to the event.

We would like you to work with a focus group of approx. 6-8 pupils who you will be with all day, talk to them about your career, how you got to where you are now, your interview experiences and provide them with useful hints and tips to a successful career. At the end of the day you will be able to see the impact you have had on your group. We may also pair you up with other facilitators from different industries so students can gain experience from different career journeys.
You will have an enjoyable few days, networking with other business professionals and young people. Your involvement will enhance the profile and reputation of your organisation within the community along with excellent work related learning for our students.
