You are ready to be scrappy, resourceful, admit when you do not know the answer, and go and find it. You want to shake the tree, rather than look for the lowest hanging fruit.
You want to work at F4S because you realised how school was so disconnected from the real world. You believe that there is a better way to make kids excited about their future and help them enjoy and fulfilling productive lives.
You believe that schools can use technology to change what they do from the inside-out. You have exciting ideas to bring to the table to help us see things differently and do better. I look forward to working with you.
Founders4Schools is an award-winning EdTech charity dedicated to improving the life prospects of students aged 6-24 years. We connect young people with professionals and community leaders, with the aim of improving their future employment prospect and closing the skills gap that holds back economic growth.
Our proprietary technology platform enables educators to invite business leaders and other professionals to meet their students and share their stories. Since 2013, Founders4Schools has helped open the eyes of over 250,000 young people to the opportunities that are out there.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager to lead our Maths4Girls pilot project which aims to improve the confidence and participation of 11 - 14 year old London school girls and will run from July 2019 - January 2020. The project will potentially run for another 3 years after the pilot phase.
During the pilot phase, Founders4Schools and 100 Women in Finance will implement a partnership project in London boroughs, which aims to inspire and encourage girls ages 11-14 to continue and excel in Maths. The Project Manager will lead the activities with 100 Women In Finance members who will volunteer as role models for girls in school. As a result, the Maths4Girls project will aim to improve young women’s life chances and broaden their career options in business, finance, STEM and the many other fields that require maths as a language.
The Project Managers will be responsible for managing the 6 month pilot, ensuring that activities are delivered on time, within budget and with maximum impact. The Maths4Girls Project Manager should possess outstanding organizational and leadership skills, coupled with an ability to understand the wider picture and aims of the project and the organisation.
Apart from being experienced in project management methodologies, candidates should also be commercially-minded professionals who have a knowledge of industry best practice, with good knowledge of gender and education approaches, of work promoting girls and women in STEM (science technology engineering and maths) and importantly, of Edtech innovation. In addition, as leaders, it is imperative that they promote in their staff a culture of teamwork, collaboration and success.
On successful completion of the pilot, there will be an opportunity to move to managing the rollout of the full project, with a budget around £200k.
